Policy Development
Social integration has to be a country wide and policy based process. Therefore FLICT supports the Ministry of National Languages and Social Integration in the formulation of a social integration policy, by also actively involving nationwide stakeholders from the state and civil society in the process. The process will then be followed up with the elaboration of a plan for implementation of Social Integration. The national policy will ensure that Social Integration is mainstreamed and institutionalized at all levels in the system and that it contributes to improving the framework conditions for a democratic, pluralistic, inclusive, non-violent society. By creating and promoting regular dialogue through the pilot activities that FLICT undertakes substantial first-hand knowledge will be generated with regard to operationalising the process of social integration.
FLICTs’ support includes:
Providing support through subject specific technical advice at the national level on policy formulation and local level policy implementation.
Facilitating dialogues with local, district, provincial, and national level with state and civil actors that support the formulation of the policy.
Supporting research, surveys and interviews in relation to the formulation of Social Integration policy.
Promoting networking and relationship building between and among key actors in the policy formulation.
Assisting and supporting the promotion and lobbying of social integration through radio, art, cultural programmes, and the design and distribution of books and trainings.
