Project Proposal Format

Proposals should not exceed 9 pages.
Before you prepare the proposal, refer to the Criteria for Funding Local Initiatives, and make sure you understand FLICT's focus areas. These documents are also available from the FLICT office.
General Information:
Cover Sheet (should not exceed 1 page)
- Name of organisation, address, telephone no., contact person etc
- Project title
- Project location (target areas)
- Brief project summary: What are the changes that your project wants to achieve? (1/3 page)
- Implementation period
- Requested budget and total budget
- Have you sent a proposal to FLICT before? If Yes When?
- To which other funding agencies have you submitted this or a similar proposal?
- Signature of person responsible, date and place
Information about the Organisation (Should not exceed 1 page)
- Name, official status and registration (if registered)
- Mission of organisation (i.e. mandate or general objectives)
- Past present experience in the field of conflict transformation and proposed area of work.
- Organisational structure, composition (ethnicity, gender etc) and capacity (professional background, qualification of key staff in conflict transformation,peace building or other relevant fields) of staff
- Network memberships, and cooperation partners
- If available please annex latest audited reports, annual reports, project brochures etc.
- Give details on completed and running projects(last 2-3 years):

Project Planning:
1.Project Background and Identified Problems (should not exceed 1 page)
Analyse the conflict situation of the area you want to work in
a) What are the conflict issues you want to address? b) Who are the
conflicting groups? c) What are their positions? d) What are their underlying needs and interests?
Be as concrete as possible!
If relevant, describe briefly the motivation or pre-history of your project.
2. Expected Changes (Outcomes), Indicators and Means of Verification
- Describe the concrete changes that your project wants to achieve in the
analysed conflict situation. - How will you know that the project has actually achieved or contributed
to the desired changes? (qualitative and quantitative Indicators ) - How will you verify the changes that you have achieved (Means of verification)

3. Implementation Strategy of the Project (Please refer to example)
a) What are the main project outputs (services, products) that will lead or
contribute to the desired changes? –Please note it is what you do with
the output that will determine the success of your project and not the output
itself. (For example you may organize a workshop on conflict transformation
and it is not the well-organised workshop that makes the difference but what
the participants will do with the knowledge acquired from the workshop)
b) Who and how many of your staff need to be involved full-time/ part-time in
this project?
c) Do you need external capacity building inputs? Specify.
4. Target Group(s)
a) What is your target group? How many direct and indirect beneficiaries you
intend to reach?
b) How will you promote people’s participation and ensure the continued
interest in the activities?
5. Risks and Obstacles
a) Where do you see weaknesses of your own organisation?
b) Can you anticipate negative impacts caused by the implementation of the project
itself? c) Which developments could put at risk the success of the project?
6. Sustainability
How could the process initiated by this project be sustainable? How would
you ensure sustainability (institutional, financial,)?
7. Monitoring and Evaluation:
a) By whom, how (methodology) and how often is monitoring and evaluation to
be carried out?
8. Detailed Budget
