Workshop on Facilitation

During the last 6 years partner organizations have developed many products (films, music, plays etc.) and strategies (peace committees, youth camps, debates etc.) across Sri Lanka to promote peace building under the three FLICT focus areas. A good product or strategy requires a good facilitator who is capable of taking the audiences/ participants through a process of analyzing and discussing the issues at hand which would lead towards positive changes in attitude and behaviour. This is however easier said than done! This needs special skills and knowledge.  Over the years many FLICT partners have requested us for help in improving their facilitation skills.

FLICT has recognized the importance of developing the facilitation skills and capacities of local organizations. Moreover, FLICT also trusts that basic knowledge and competencies in facilitation could also serve as a vital part of partner organizations work and as an important management tool in their day-to-day work environments.

In last year FLICT has developed a module on facilitation and proposed series of facilitation workshops is aimed at enabling FLICT partner organizations to carry out their work in a more participatory, effective and efficient way.
