District Profiles provide relevant information to design Conflict Transformation and Peace Building interventions considering the local context, in line with FLICT’s Regional Approach. They are expected to give the intervening actors - professionals engaged in conflict transformation and peace building interventions - an insight into the characteristics of the “region”.

Rather than being an exhaustive compilation of information, the District Profiles are more of a portrait of the socio-cultural-political-economic landscape. Although some analysis and explanations are included to tie the content together, it is left up to the reader to review and come to his or her own conclusions. Depending on the intervention more specific and current information would need to be sourced, but it is hoped that this would provide an overview to take the first steps.
