Imagining Peace: Phoenix Exhibition by Anoma Wijewardene for Colombo Art Biennial 2009
Anoma Wijewardene’s new exhibition Phoenix, now on display at the Colombo Art Biennale, represents the artist’s personal response to the Biennale’s theme of “Peace.” Drawing upon digital photographs she took during a trip to Jaffna in 2002 during the last cease-fire, Anoma has created a multi-media gallery show that invites viewers to find inner peace as the way to sustain national peace.

Janakaraliya Theatre Group in Badulla

Breezy and cheery after winning the hearts and minds of the people of Hatton, Janakaraliya ventures into the town of Badulla intending to establish the mobile theatre at the Badulla Central college grounds and spreading their wings form there. As usual, Janakaraliya drama festival is to be the opening feature heralding the arrival of TOP which is supposed to attract thousands of people from every nook and corner of the district refreshing the environment and adding glitter to the young and the old alike.
