Art of Conflict Transformation

As part of FLICT’s work to build effective partnerships and projects the Art of Conflict Transformation (ACT) workshop provides a forum for learning and critical discussion for Sri Lankan civil society groups. The aim of ACT is to create successful initiatives based on a sound understanding of the ethno-political conflict in Sri Lanka to which effectively contribute conflict transformation and peacebuilding efforts.

The absence of a good analytical framework prevents many of FLICT’s partners from planning meaningful initiatives. Transformative change is a difficult process which needs critical thinking and analysis. The complex attitudes, beliefs and behavior of the ‘state’, civil society groups and individuals, including ourselves, can play an important role in the solution.

Learn how to analyze the complexity of conflict in your community and find practical solutions to address the root causes.

Understand the different forms of governance and the principles of democracy.

Find out about practical tools and methods that will help you to be successful in your work as catalysts for peace.

Who should attend the ACT workshop?
Civil society organizations that wish to work in partnership with FLICT are strongly encouraged to attend this workshop. ACT is aimed at developing knowledge amongst the staff that have a key role in designing, managing and implementing your proposed project.
The workshop will be 3½ days in length. There will be time allocated to revisit and improve your project proposal with the FLICT team.
