Christoph Feyen is the Senior Advisor at FLICT. With years of experience working in conflict- and post-conflict settings, Christoph has been with GIZ for 28 years. Prior to joining FLICT in summer 2013, he has worked in Kathmandu for four years as the Senior Advisor to the Nepal Peace Trust Fund (NPTF) within the Ministry of Peace & Reconstruction.
Holding a Master’s Degree in Political Science (Free University Berlin), in his own words, it’s the purpose and mandate of FLICT and the professional and intercultural challenges that come along with it that keeps him going. When he is not at work, Christoph enjoys attending to his gardens in Colombo and Kandy. As Kipling once famously said “A garden isn’t made by sitting in the shade.”
Priyadharshini is the Finance Manager and has been with the FLICT family from its inception. An Associate Member of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (ACMA) Priyadharshini has over 35 years of experience in the field of Finance & Management. She has held key management positions at several Government Authorities and served as Director / Finance & Administration – National Apprenticeship and Training Authority (NAITA).
Priyadharshini loves spending time with family and friends. She has a unique ability to work with children and is also an avid reader. “Listen to yourself and in that quietude you might hear the voice of God.” – a quote by Maya Angelou is something she feels resonates with her approach to work and life.
Hasini is the Technical Advisor of the Arts and Culture unit at FLICT. She works on knowledge management with a focus on training and the promotion of social integration through creative media. She specializes in education, culture and communications. As a trained sociologist, she obtained her Masters in Asian Studies in Sweden.
She has extensive experience in working with partners using art and media for social transformation. Hasini loves theatre, poetry and historical biographies. If she wasn’t doing a job that she loved this much, Hasini says she would be a writer. She recently participated in a course on Memory Work at University of Columbia, New York.
Dayani is the Technical Advisor to the Policy oriented work area at FLICT. She has over 25 years of work experience in the government and the International organizations. Dayani is an Attorney –at- Law and has Masters’ Degrees in Law (LLM), International Relations (MA) and Business Administration (MBA). She is trained and has advance diplomas in Security Studies, Conflict Resolution, Disarmament Demobilization and Reintegration from prestigious universities in Europe and the USA.
She is committed towards empowering marginalized communities and what makes Dayani special is her dedication and commitment towards achieving targets. Dayani is an active Rotarian and an animal welfare activist and her moto is ‘service above self’.
Sulakshana de Mel is the Technical Advisor to the Capacity Development, Learning and Innovation Unit. With 13 years of experience in the field of international development, Sulakshana has worked in South Asia and in Germany.
She received her primary and secondary education in Mexico and as a trained Social Anthropologist she obtained her MPhil Degree from University of Cambridge and MSc Degree from University of Oxford. A self-proclaimed foodie, Sulakshana loves food photography, food critiquing and cook-offs among friends and family.
Hasanthi is a Programme Officer at FLICT and works on knowledge management, communications & public relations. She is an honours graduate in Humanities with a Bachelor of Arts Degree (Major in Germanistik Studies) from the University of Kelaniya, Sri Lanka. She holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Development Studies from the University of Colombo.
Her area of expertise includes research, grants administration/ fundraising, communications and knowledge management in development. Fluent in German, Hasanthi has a knack for learning languages and loves to travel.
Humaira is a Programme Officer working in Puttlam District and surrounding areas. Presently, she also serves as Finance Assistant at FLICT. She holds a B.A. Degree in Social Science from the Open University of Sri Lanka and a Diploma in Management from Nippon Keidanren International Cooperation Centre in Japan.
Humaira has also completed training in Special Needs of Women and Youth in Israel.She is a trainer on Rural Development with 15 years of experience and has coordinated Peace campaigns around the country. When not at work, Humaira enjoys reading a good book.
Jothirajah Karunenthira works as a Programme Officer for FLICT assigned to Mullaitivu District and its surrounding area. He has completed a Certificate Course in International Relations at the University of Colombo and is currently following a LLB at the Open University.
Suman's specialization is in the areas of gender, psychology and theatre. He has completed a course on Creative Process and Innovative Theatre, conducted by the British Council. In his spare time, Suman is often found either playing his percussion or as a Kooththu performer.
Sivatharshan is a Programme Officer at FLICT. He is responsible for coordinating programmes in Ampara and surrounding Districts. He holds a Master’s Degree in Organizational Management from the University of Peradeniya.
With ten years of work experience in the field of management and community empowerment, Sivatharshan has participated in training programmes at both national and international level.
Sujendra works as a Programme Officer attached to the Policy Unit at FLICT. He holds a MSc in Service Management from The Institute of Human Resource Advancement, University of Colombo and has behind him, over 5 years of experience in project management in the state sector, private sector as well as civil society organizations working with communities at the grassroot level.
Besides travelling and reading, Sujendra enjoys playing sports and is probably what makes him a true team player.
Johann is a Programme Officer in the Arts and Culture Unit. His main responsibilities include coordinating the university exchange programmes and inter-religious programmes. He holds a MA in Sociology of Education from the US.
He has interests in culture, education, religion and languages. Johann is also an accomplished musician and a member of the Symphony Orchestra of Sri Lanka.
Malshani is a Trainee attached to the Arts and Culture Unit at FLICT. She is reading for Bachelor of Science in International Relations awarded by the University of London (LSE) and holds a Diploma in Diplomacy and World Affairs awarded from the Bandaranaike International Diplomatic Training Institute.
Malshani is a theater practitioner and since leaving school has interned with the Stages Theatre Group and acted in several bilingual productions. She is also an ardent fan of K-Pop.
Chrishan is the Information Systems Officer at FLICT and he splits his time between two GIZ projects. In addition to being overall in-charge of IT, he is responsible for LAN/WLAN administration, audio visual technical support and also extends his assistance to the PR team of FLICT.
Chrishan is a Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator and he has been working with GIZ since 2003. Chrishan loves photography and this talent of his is much sought after during GIZ staff trips.
Heinz is the Administrative Officer at FLICT and an irreplaceable member of the team when it comes to organizing events, staff trips and parties.
He holds a Business Management Diploma from the Lanka Institute of Business Management. Heinz joined FLICT in 2007.
Anushika is interning at FLICT. She holds a Master of Science in Development Management from the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE), and completed her undergraduate studies in Business Administration in the US.
Having experienced life in different countries she came to love travelling and to appreciate the exposure to different cultures and traditions.
Upali works as an Administration Assistant cum Driver at FLICT. His experience with GIZ dates back to 1998.
He has also extended his support to the Rural Banking Inauguration Project in Kandy. Upali is a performer skilled in mimicking.
Bithu is an Administrative Assistant cum Driver at FLICT and extends his support to the Administrative Unit.
He has worked in several diplomatic missions and international organizations for over 16 years as a driver and support staff for administration and security risk management. Bithu is a multi linguist and he loves motor-biking and football.
Jega is an Office Assistant cum driver at FLICT. He has been with the FLICT family since 2012.
Jega has received training in First Aid, Driver Safety Training, Swimming Rescue and Fire Drill Training. He is also a very good cricketer.
Siri supports the programme as the Office Aide. She joined FLICT in 2010 and prior to that worked for Abans Environmental Services.
She feels she is an equal member of the team and enjoys being a part of FLICT. Siri is an animal lover and takes care of 15 cats and 8 hens at home.
