Training of Trainers on Facilitation
Over the years many products (films, music, plays etc) and strategies (peace committees, youth camps, debates etc) have been developed to promote peace building in the country. Our experience has shown that good products alone will not lead to the desired outcome of generating a discourse of pluralism, multiculturalism etc. A good product or strategy requires a good facilitator who is capable of taking the audience / participants through a process of analysing and discussing the issues at hand which would lead towards positive changes in attitudes and behaviour. This is however easier said that done! This requires special skills and knowledge.
In order to address this capacity building need among partners FLICT organised a Training of Trainers on Facilitation. The residential workshop was held from the 27th -30th of June 2007 at Pegasus Reef Hotel, Wattala. It was conducted by Ms. Anne Fisser, who brings with her many years of experience in the field of facilitation both as a trainer as well as a facilitator.
