13th December - Bridging divides through interfaith dialogue

13 December 2011, Galle - Bridging Divides through Interfaith Dialogue

Galle is a religiously diverse district – it is particularly so as it is an important commercial hub of Sri Lanka. People of the area are generally identified through their religious faith; as a Buddhist, Christian, Muslim, or Hindu.

While acknowledging differences, variety of belief and practice there are rooted common values in each faith. This multi-cultural richness of Galle gives remarkable opportunities to create a society that understands and respects each other as a result of which followers of different faiths are able to coexist. They have much to offer, drawing on their own particular spiritual heritages, to help create an integrated society.
