Community Empowerment
FLICT supports the strengthening of the capacity of marginalized communities who have fewer opportunities to express their needs and opinions for enhancing their social situation within their societies and creating opportunities for dialogue with communities and Local government institutions. At community level, FLICT works towards the integration of divided and disadvantaged communities and creates opportunities to voice their needs and participation in the decision making processes of Community Based Organizations and Local Authorities. This practice, which is embedded within the concepts of social justice and equality, will help the communities to identify common issues and create joint activities in order to meet their needs.
FLICTs’ support includes:
Strengthening marginalised communities to participate in social, economical and political process/activities at national, divisional and community levels in order to improve their well- being and exercise their civil rights.
Promoting Social Integration activities by providing local subsidies for such activities. Supporting the development of common action plans that bring together divided and marginalized groups.
Facilitating inter- and intra group dialogue forums to bring out and discuss issues on a common platform which help sort divisions and promote acceptance.
Supporting exchange and exposure visits, which include children, youths, women, as well as disabled. These visits provide opportunities to experience diversity and learn best practices in social integration.
